Proper noun
Gallegan
- Synonym for Galician. Both nouns are Standard English names for citizens of Galicia, and there appears to be no ethnic slur or other pejorative sense attached to Gallegan. However, Galicians might consider the term Gallegan offensive because it's based, not upon the original autonym (or endonym or autoethnonym) galego, but upon the Spanish exonym gallego.
- Galician´s language. Name of the language spoken in Galicia, spanish region located at the spanish north-west, limiting whith the north of Portugal. Although this language may sound a mix between spanish and portuguese its a language itself, derived from latin just as spanish, portuguese, catalan or italian for example.
