Derived from Classical Latin translatus, past participle of transferre, from trans- "across" + ferre "to bear"

Verb
to translate (translated, translating)
- To change text (of a book, document, Web site, movie, anime, or video game) from one language to another.
- To change from one form or medium to another, e.g., translate experience to film.
